Sayel overcompensates again by PuddingPack Sayel overcompensates again by PuddingPack
I love rendering armor. Everyone needs to know; I love rendering armor. With that said, I also enjoy lady knights.

WITH THAT SAID. No comments on the fact she is a lady knight as I hate being progressive.

With saying that, lol, I am and will always be open to critiques. If you think you know a way to improve my drawerns tell meee.

I love lady knights. And the colouring and the colour scheme in general in this, and the smoothness, and the highlights. I also like the contrast between her battle regalia and the youthfulness of her face and expression.

I'm having a bit of a difficult time understanding her chestplate though, the shape seems strange relative to her body. Or perhaps I just have trouble seeing where the middle line goes, or how it connects to the topmost part of the chestplate. If you'll allow me another minor nitpick, from the perspective of a historical fencer, I don't quite understand what she's doing with her sword hand. If it were turned around so the palm faces the ground, it'd make more sense. I can't think of any situation in which you'd grip a sword like that, other than perhaps if you're extending it hilt-first to someone else.

ooh I'm having trouble seeing what you mean with the chest piece, would you mind reiterating?
and uh. not to go into GREAAAT detail but I'm kind of familiar with swords and general sword fighting. NOT CLAIMING THAT I KNOW MUCH THOUGH PLZ DONT GO ASKING ME ABOUT SWORDS AND SHIT I JUST KNOW THE BASIC OF BASICS. But anyways-The rapier is angled just for aesthetics sake, not for practical use. Plus I tried being really subtle and insinuating that she's not a real knight. For one instance, rapier's and shields are not really a thing together, and it's kind of an inside joke between myself that she tries killing things with the rapier and that's crazy unpractical lol. You can also note the decorative nature of her armor, that she is sporting thick cloth and flowing silk underneath, flowers in her hair- which is a further nod to her lack of actual fighting experience.

Aaaah, yes that makes a lot of sense. I didn't want to comment too much on the rapier/shield implausibility or the robe, I like the design and historical nitpicking of fantasy artwork is just silly... And you were doing a Clever Thing all along. My bad. It definitely works as a concept.

What I meant about the chest piece: at hip level, the armour comes to a point. If you trace the line of that point upwards however (I assume this is the middle line), it doesn't seem to wind up at the middle of her chest. Possibly I'm just squinting and being a derp here, though. (Also I think it's one of those things that are difficult to explain and would be super simple to redline/point and flail at.)
